Week 6 — Sept 15

We’re back with another week!

English 10/English 10 Honors

This week in English, we bring to a close our unit on the Literature from the early days of this country. These are the stories that will be covered on the test:

  • “The Earth on the Turtle’s Back”
  • “When Grizzlies Walked Upright”
  • from “The Iroquois Constitution”
  • from “Journal of the First Voyage to America”
  • from “Of Plymouth Plantation”
  • “Huswifery”
  • “To My Dear and Loving Husband”
  • “Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God”

You should have study/discussion guides that cover these stories and poems. If you’re missing anything, be sure to ask me about them in class EARLY this week.

On Tuesday, you will also get back your graded rough draft of the Personal Narrative. You will need to revise that draft and create a polished final draft by Friday, Sept 19.

Your Unit 1 Test will be on Thursday, Sept 18.

If you haven’t done your Book Talk for the first semester yet, you should be working hard to finish up that reading. The first Book Talk is due by Oct 14, and we’re fast approaching that deadline. Do NOT wait until the last moment!

Psychology folks, this week we’ll begin to study Sensation and Perception. We’ll kick off the unit with some fun sensory activities and we’ll go from there!

Let’s have a great week, everyone!
