Resources for Lent

Lent starts with Ash Wednesday next week (2/10), so I wanted to share some resources that you might find helpful in your Lenten preparations. The Church asks us to Pray, Fast, and Give as we observe Lent and strive to walk in a closer walk to God.

Check out this video from Fr. Mike Schmidt:

If you’re looking for daily reflections to help you focus your days, check out Best Lent Ever from Dynamic Catholic. They’re the same ones who did Best Advent Ever (and who published the purple Rediscover Jesus books that Mrs. Ceasar gave y’all. You can sign up for those daily emails here:

Another daily reflection option is the one from Bishop Robert Barron and Word on Fire. You can sign up for that here:

That whole site is a wonderful resource. There are great articles and wonderful videos.

When you are thinking about Lent, consider not just giving something up but also taking on a new practice or devotion. We are lucky to have daily mass on campus Tuesday through Thursday at 7am before school starts. I’m going to aim to go to those masses during Lent. We also have a new Rosary Club on campus. It meets during Break on Thursdays in the Chapel. Consider joining us!

If you have any favorite Lenten resources that you’d like to share, please do!
