Grammar Work

We use a program called Daily Grammar Practice in the English Department.  We have one sentence each week, and we break that sentence down in different ways each day. Mondays, we focus on parts of speech. On Tuesdays, we focus on parts of the sentence. On Wednesdays, we look at clauses. Thursdays are the days when we focus on capitalization and punctuation. On Fridays, we diagram sentences.

In an effort to help with some of this work, I have created a guide for the basic parts of speech. You can find that here:

Grammar Notes–Parts of Speech
Grammar Notes–Parts of the Sentence
Grammar Notes–Clauses
Grammar Notes–Subordinating Conjunctions and Relative Pronouns

You can also find a link to the full DGP notes package here.
